I am wondering about getting this phone unlocked so i can run my 02 sim in it, the reason behind this is that 02 offer much better coverage in the area where i work. I am after some advice whether its worth bothering, and is there anyone on here who can sort me out with a unlock code ?? Kindest regards

I know we can't unlock this phone. But you can get it done for about ?16 on ebay.
Not sure what the phone is like to use, we have 2 in stock but I've never played with them yet. Suppose it depends on if you're happy with it yourself.
Don't think you'll get a good phone for the equivilent price of the unlock.Canker

To be 100% honest with you i have not really used it yet, i was after a new gadget to mess about with. I got it in the sales from Argos for ?50, but you had to buy a ?20 top up with it, so its actual cost is ?70, but there is supposed to be 6 months internet access with it, and thats what i am looking for as my 3g dongle in my lappy takes ?10 per month. Is it possible to use this phone to get internet access on my lappy ? So i no longer need the 3g dongle ?Comment

It's got Bluetooth in case it didn't come with a data cable, so you should be able to use it as a modem!
If you get free data, you can always pop your new SIM into your 3G modem assuming that your modem is unlocked. You can use your free data that way!!

Many thanks for that info...I would rather not keep opening and closing the phone. So i can use its Bluetooth capabilty to connect my lappy online ? Thats very interesting, but is there any advantages to moving the sim card over to the USB 3g dongle ? ( like speed etc ) or will it perform just the same over Bluetooth ?
p.s I have realised today that i could not ring anyone as it was out of credit !! i have no idea how Argos sell phones with ?20 credit, should i of been given a top up card or something to put onto the phone when i first use it. I am confused about all this PAYG as i have had a contract phone ever since they came outComment

I don't know how they do airtime credit in the UK now (I left in 2004 for sunshine) but here you'd have a "recharge code" on your till slip...
Most modems are faster than your phones 3.6Mbps so there is probably a speed advantage.Comment

I own one. It's ok, but don't expect it to perform like a Galaxy or HTC
The phones are easy to root (hack) so you'll be able to install all manner of toys to play with, performance wise it's ok if you only have one or two apps running, any more than that and it'll start lagging badly.
Overall it's a rather decent entry level Android phone for the price. It'll do almost everything the ?400 models will do only a little but slower. AFAIK they have no intentions of upgrading the OS to 2.2 so you'll be forever stuck with 2.1 - which isn't a bad thing by any means.
Word of warning. I've just got mine back from T-Mobile as I had to get it repaired.
My grand daughter dropped it, it fell about 2 foot and it died, so it appears they aren't very robust.Comment
