    LG Optimus One any good

Android Froyo 2.2 has arrived and you?ll find it on the Optimus One. This touchscreen smartphone packs a lot of features ? make it your mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, download the best apps with top tips from LG?s App Advisor and use it as your sat nav.

i know nothing about phones, please give any advice

This will all come down to what you want it for.

Let's start with the really bad bit. Android 2.2 has flash 10.1 so you can use the iplayer & embedded videos. But not on this phone.
The screen resoluton is not high enough to support flash, so LG removed it.

The keyboard has been modified, but not for the best. The keys are a bit small for comfortable use but it does have a windows mobile styled predictive text tool. The keyboard can be replaced through the android market.

The rest of the o/s has been left alone, which is good. It gets the best battey life I've seen from a modern smart phone at 2 days with light use.

The camera's a bit of a weak effort at 3MP, but it does work & the video sound is pretty good.

With a 600mhz processor it's a bit slow at times, but it does work. Wi-fi & GPS seem to be very stable...but again, the start-up on the GPS satellite locator is very slow.

Overall this is a low budget android 2.2 phone. Nothing flash about it. If you're looking for a cheap phone with big boy features this fits. Oh, Angry Birds does work on this, so you'll be ok there.
