Think is when i put the imei into the calculator and choose Nokia 5230 i get a list of codes. Wondering if i should try a couple and see. I know if i try 2 many it will lock the phone.
Also in another calculator it says this phone is a Nokia 2600 is this correct. I choose yes and the codes change so wondering if maybe the calculator is correct.
If you can buy them online then im sure there is a calculator out there. Or else you would simply just be buying from someone who buys the code from 3? No?
A lot of the 5230 Xpress Music phones are SL3 locked. Check the software version by typing *#0000#
If memory serves, anything over v50 will be SL3. This is correct for the 5800, just not 100% certain on the 5230.
If it is SL3 you will need the code from the network or send it away for unlocking. Some independent retailers can get hold of codes, but it's usually more expensive than the network.

Thanks for all the input.
The Cyclone box MIGHT let you unlock this phone, there are additional variables in play such as firmware version and hash table.
Take it to a shop, at least if they can't unlock it they can't charge you!
