    Samsung tocco problems.

okk, i got a samsung tocco today, second hand and the battery life on it isnt really good, comes on for about 5 minutes i dont even have to touch it and after 5 minutes it goes off again, what could it be?
thought of buying a new battery and i think that will be the first thing i'm going to do if anyone else reccomends me to do that or any other things i should do instead? Thanks in advance

Provided that neither the phone or battery is getting warm, I'd try a new battery, it's also worth pulling the microSD card out to check that isn't at fault. I had one short circuit on a Blackberry today this was also causing shortened battery life. Take care removing the memory card as the socket isn't the strongest I've even seen!

You would probably be better off taking it back and getting a refund or a exchange that throwing money at it

            Stupid question...

Are you sure it's turning off & not just locking it's self? Unlock button on the right side of the phone.

You can also try debranding it, as long as it's already unlocked.

Think I've got the files, flash program & instructions on my laptop if you feel the need for adventure.

it's definately turning off because it says low batter after 5 minutes of me not touching it, ive checked whether i have any applications running that i don't need, and when i turn it back on it omes back up with the start-up screen

Does it charge correctly? From flat it should be fully charged within 3 hours. If it's saying it's charged in only 20mins then I'd be looking at the battery.

Li-ion/Li-ploy batteries have a small charge circuit built into them to stop over charging. If this is faulty then the battery won't charge.

Also check the water markers on both the phone & battery. They should be small white squares, if they're red then it's been in water...not good for either phone or battery. But if it's just the battery that's gone red then a new one should work fine.
