If I change Image will I lose recordings?

Is it possible to change images without losing recordings made on an alternative image.

I'd like to try another image but I've built up a little colection of recordings that I would hate to lose.

no changing images will not affect the hard-drive unless you format the drive from within the image your self.

Recordings will remain on your HDD mate unless as RD says you format it but there should be no need to do so.

I have even removed HDD's from one receiver to the next recordings stay put and no need to format.
