Spiderbox - Talk to me!

Hi guys,

Got offered a chipped Sky HD box and card a few days ago which triggered alarm bells as I didn't think you could get these anymore so I politly said no. Which then made me remeber I'm a member on here so back I am!

I used to have a Eurovox when I was down south but they all got blocked and now I'm back up north I can't get cable in my area. So I got Sky+ fitted around 18 months ago.

Could someone explain to me what the Spiderbox does exactly? Is it the same as the eurovox?

Does it require a cable subscription? If so is there any no cable tips and tricks out there?

Hi, I've got a spiderbox 9000hd with a 1m motorised dish had it for 2wks. If you get the gift ( service+) enables you to receive sat tv from diffrent sats without a subscription. I get alot of football including epl, la liga, movies, xxx movies, news etc all set up in favorites easy to manage. Bought of eBay & got seller to install..!!!

Does this mean I will get ALL sky channels and Sky HD Channels?

Do the gifts last forever? If not what happens on expiry etc? I don't need cable then?

How much was you box and dish of the bay?

To get the most out of the spiderbox you need a motorised dish ive had mine since the start of the footy season, never missed a game ive wanted to watch, I also have a 1m dish, would say go for the HD box as you get all the extra HD channels some 3D channels and a few other which you cant get on the 5000sd very easy to use. you wont be dissapointed if u go for it.

You dont get sly channels the only way u can get them is through a sly sub or cs which we cant really discussed on here you can google it

My mate got the 9000 and a 1 meter dish all set up for ?400 you can do it a lot cheeper if you put the dish up your self i bought mine off sat shop full set up and put mine up, alot more satisfying.

I paid ?420 fitted, I'm a total newbie so was happy to pay that watched 4 football games so far that were not on sky half me money back already!!!

i brought a box dish the whole set up for ?240 i got the spiderbox 7000hd, you get everything you need and i set it up myself altho iam having some little problems its pritty easy with a sat finder (fiver off fleebay), give me a pm if you want the info on where i got it from and other things we cant talk about on a open forum

Look mate, a spider box is no eurovox (Plug and play into cable), A spider box is a very good and useful satellite receiver to have, I recommend a 80cm + Satellite dish with the box ( Motorised ) due to the makers of spider box having " gift " channels that you will load into your box with patches, You will get stuff like Nova sports, tring, etc all showing 3pm EPL, Also some good movie channels in HD too, However I think the spiderbox is very good for a new comer to the satellite scene,
