Splitting signal.

Am I right in saying the only way to run two boxes (one sly+, one linux), is to have 4 cables running from the LNB, 2 running into both boxes, ( watch one channel record another)
Looks easy enough to do, just wondering if anybody knows any other way of doing it without running another 2 cables from LNB to back of new box.

SLY dish, if you have sly+ or sly HD you have two cables coming from the LNB to the back of your box, if you want multi room, they just add another two cables to the same LNB as it's a quad LNB they always fit.
Now you have 4 cables coming from the LNB, Is there any way to split only the 2 cables I have just now so I can run a second box without the hassle of running another 2 cables from the LNB.
I'm led to believe the splitters you buy from Ebay etc will not work, and may damage the box ?

You really need 4 cables mate.

if you dont use your sly box for recording you could just split the two cables to use your other box

For ?16 for 20mt, and my signal strength about 95%, who gives a ~~~~ :-)...

My cousin was quoted ?70 + vat to run 20mt cable and re-align her dish, wtf !!

cheeky buggers ent they, there on the amount of money that they could have christmas every other day on, haha, Lets all quit what we do and become sat installers

Work it out, travel to and back from job and use your kit to realign dish and then run cable.
Maybe could take upto the whole morning depending on travel.
How much do you earn a day?
Taking into account you may have an office or advertising fees etc it's not expensive.

and what if hes local, also your kit you only buy once, there on in its profit and a few travelling fees !
