Yes mate, its basicly just a lot of channels that you would normally pay for free, for example, Tring, Nova sports, TV2 PL1,2 and 3.

No UK channels, So I would recommend a motorized dish, way forward mate

Thanks Ellis, but now I think I've just taken two steps back. I understand the Sly dish points at 28.2E so why can't you pick up the UK (Sly) channels? How does a motorized dish, obviously moving away from 28.2E, help me. I'm really confused now, bit thick I know!!

No mate, your not thick, your just new!

A motorized dish simply gives you the options to pick up numerous satellites, You will still pick up sky UK, But the dish is able to move to another satellite for example 19.2E ( German Sky ), so you would scan in sky UK on your spiderbox for example, you will then use the motor on the dish and on your box you will move the dish to 19.2E and scan in the German channels, Then when you select a German channel the dish will move to sky DE ( 19.2E ), when you select a English it will move to sky UK ( 28.2E ).

            Regards.

If you need any more help PM me !

im pretty certain your satellite dish is only capable of picking up 3 satellites, just the astra ones and one other i think. why not get a motorized dish? i paid ?99 for a 1m technomate dish and fitted it myself and can pickup dozens of satellites. its quite simple, i've still got a few tweaks on mine to do but its basically straight forward and theres alot of help to be had on this site, no need for an engineer. im pretty much set on a spiderbox but not sure about this "gift" and what happens when it runs out. i reckon the gift is a subscription to a server but only for a limited time (probably until the server gets too congested) and then you'd have to subscribe to a different one. am i right on that one lads?

Promise i've done a load of research, but each thread I read throws me off down a different path.

Right now I seem to be sold on the Spiderbox, but can you please advise on a couple of points. I have a redundant dish still on the wall from my old Sly days. Is this OK for a Spiderbox. I really do not have the knowledge to start messing with new dishes.

Is there a great difference (apart from the ?20 price tag) between the 7000 and 9000 boxes.

Is there an end date to a "free gift" if so what happens then?

Please excuse my basic questions but I really am starting from the bottom here and struggling to find my way.
nothing majorly different between the 7000 and 9000 and the 'free gift' has not got Sly uk included. As for your dish it will be fone for picking up sly unless its more than 10 years old.
