sat work same as cable KV etc

Hi, i am new to this, Looking to get setup with Sat or Cable, which is the most reliable for staying online / not being switched off.

Do sat setup's work the same as cable (KV or starview) with regards connecting to internet and Remote server to decode ?.

Are there more service providers on SAT than Cable.

    Thanks , T.B

The basic concept of getting channels opened via the internet is the same but beyond that there's a world of difference. There is more than 1 satellite so in theory this means that with the right hardware and means there are thousands of channels to choose from.

I'm fairly new to the sat scene, only started setting up last week and haven't yet finished but you need to go and do lots and lots of reading, after which you'll want to get every single sat channel you can possibly get, you then have to take a step back and decide on the config based upon your budget as believe me it can cost quite a packet just to initially setup the kit up.
