the easiest way is the protek hd box it's more or less
plug and play it updates it's self etc: but if you dont have
a dish set up you will need a full system and to get the best
from any sat box you need a motorised system and i would
say get a 1 mtr dish. as for cost i dont know but others will
have that info and you could try a google for this setup and cost.

If Sly Sports and EPSN is all you want, then a fixed dish at 28.2 is all you NEED. As Benny said a motorised system really gets the most from Satellite. Getting this installed professionally could cost you in the region of ?400 though.

I'd learn about doing it yourself, you can get a full motorised package (minus receiver) for ?100-130 on ebay.

Another good choice would be a fixed dish with multiple LNB's. I recently saw a full package (80cm dish, x3 lnbs, diseqc switch, wall mount, coaxial cable) for under ?70 on Ebay. This would get you 28.2 (Sly UK), 19.2, and 13e (LOTS of european channels). One advantage of this setup is fast channel switching (you don't have to wait for a motor to turn).

OR simply pick up a Sky mini-dish pack on eBay for ?30ish.

Get a linux satellite box to make the most of it. Clone Dreambox 500s are around ?50. HD DM800's are about ?160.

      Hope this helps

Your sky cable should be fine. Although if it was installed more than 4 years ago, I'd replace it as they do degrade over time.
