    New to Sky

    Hi guys,

I've had a look over the forums and haven't found an idiots guide on this. I have used the Starview boxes for a number of years now, unfortunately a new job forced a house move where I can't get virgin. What boxes are recommended to pickup sky and how often do they get zapped? I have Sky HD atm with everything less the movies and sports, something I would like but not pay ?32 a month for. If you can point me in the right direction I would be greatful.

    Thanks in Advance

If you want to keep HD, you'll need a HD linux box i.e. Dreambox 800, VU+, Spiderbox etc. Keep your Sky minidish up.

Cardsharing is the only real solution at the minute. It's actually not that difficult to learn, but many forums are reluctant to discuss it at present. Google will tell you all you need to know. The hobbyist cardsharers hate payservers so be careful who you ask about these. I'll be honest, they work perfectly fine and are the easiest route to take. My advice is to keep your current package and share it.

Also consider getting a multi-satellite system for european packages. Your SKY HD package is a desirable share to europeans.

I have a dreambox 800 HD. Have to say it's the best money I have spent, that and a motorised system. Not only get Sly, but plenty of 3pm footy in HD, adult stuff.

All for 15 euros a month (about ?12).

Cannot say much more on here.
