    Taken from another source

"ok.. DCC needs a password to work ..

Dreambox comes with the default username : "root".. password: "dreambox"

The Vu+ is a little different.. Username : "root".. There is no default password but you will have to set one before you can access your Vu+ in ftp..

Here are the instructions on what to do to get your password..

Open DCC and as normal make sure all ip`s are correct...
Clear the password in box provided
    Press reconnect
    Go to telnet
    Type "passwd"
You will now be asked for new password.. type your new password.. Then enter..
You will be asked to retype your new password.. then enter.. and the letters you type may not show up.. but all is OK
    Confirmed
Now go to configuration page and click on reconnect.

thats all there is to it... you should now be able to access all the setting on your box..

    Hope this helps .. "

I had the same problem but only with some images, I am using an open pli image now with no problem.
        openpli-1.0-2010-09-06.

Open up network on your PC or Mac, you can access it via that.
Just transfer stuff across, what image are you using ?

Try total commander as you ftp client. The password could be vuduo or vuplus

look for a fully loaded image they are much easier, cccam + config already installed and there should be the log in password with the download, just change it to whatever you want afterwards,
ps and give thanks if you can to the person who uploaded it as they have done the hard work.

I use FlashFXP with username=root, password leave blank. You get another box pop-up asking for password, leave that blank as well.

I would use the backup script before uploading a new image, then you have a fallback if all else fails.

Look on your PC, go to network, VUDuo will show up in there, no need for FTP clients.
If you use a mac look in finder, shows up in there.
Forgot to mention make sure ethernet is plugged in to box and router !!
