Globalstar 1100 - channels coming on and off?

Hi - i am quite new to this but I have got a Globalstar 1100 with motorised dish with 'free gift'. My question is why can I get channels like Sly Box Office and Sly sports one Italia, Setanta sports etc. some times then other times they won't come on

Could someone advise how this works - some channels are on all the time - normal sly etc.

Is there any way to improve this?

I got it from a sat place in B'ham near to the Birmingham City ground
