Calling motorised Dish Guru's (offset angles)

    Hi

I've just bought a new 80cm dish which has a offset angle of 26degs Which is to much for my elevation (should be 22degs according to dishpointer) & the new dish cant point down no more. Can i get away with lowering the elevation on my motor to compensate for the dish??? If i do this will it effect my arc???

Link to the dish: SAB Satellite Dish 80cm - Tech Sat (Mods hope linking is ok?)

    1 more Question.
Is anyone picking 39e in norfolk ok with an 80cm

    Thanks

the offset angle is not adjustable.you need to set the dish elevation angle to 22 degrees as per dishpointer but this will only be a starting point and will need adjusting the get your target sat.set the latitude on the motor to your local lat and leave it there you will not track the arc otherwise.39E is a good strong sat and you will get it in norfolk easily on an 80cm dish.
it sounds like you just need to get it all aligned properly, mounting pole MUST be 100% plumb, dish bracket MUST be 100% central on motor spigot,But do NOT try and adjust the dish elevation by the motor scale, you will be able to do it with the dish scale just ignore the markings if they dont make sense and start with the dish face about vertical and go from there although the spec for your dish gives an elevation adjustment between 18 & 70 degrees so there should be no problems.

        Dish offset

        Goto Downloads>Category Tree>Satellite>Diseqc motor setup.
Download the file and read it thru before you start.
        Best of luck
