Installer Menu for SKY+ HD

I am having 'no satellite signal' problems with my Amstrad 895 SKY+ HD Box. I have read about a fix to this but I need to access my installer menu. When I press services,0,0,1,select I get 'menu can't be accessed while two programs are recording'. My problem started when there was a power cut and two programs may have been recording at the same time. Anyone got any ideas?

All you need to do is perform a reset on the box

Thanks for that but unfortunately the box will not reset.

in that case try a forced firmware update.

pull the power cable from the box while leaving it connected to the coax and phone. leave it for ten seconds then while holding the backup button in on the box plug it back in. continue to hold the backup button untill you see the message telling you the box is updating. once you see this release the backup button and wait for the box to reflash and restart. should take maybe 10 minutes.

Thank you Ruberduck, I have tried that but it didn't work. However, the box was not connected to my phone line, is this essential for the forced firmware update to work, I always thought this was done via the satellite signal.
