newbie help

Hi everyone
Im possibly looking to go down the sat route but im struggling to get my head round the vast amount of info .
I was hoping to just use my original sly dish ( if possible) and just purchase a reciever. If this is possible then what would be a good box ?
Also would it just need flashed like the old cable boxes and that would be job done ?
Will it need conected to the internet ?( im not looking to pay for any servers ect)
What sort of channels can i expect? ie movies/sport ect

And finally an IDIOT proof tutorial on how to set it up would be nice.

I know all the info i probably need is somewhere if i look , but there is just so much i dont understand.

ill try and keep it simple as i have been known to ramble

u can use original sly dish if u want sly uk unless u get a bigger dish and a motor u will only get sly uk, the sat needs to move to get other (european) channels
depends on box but if u get the most mainstream (dm800 dreambox) u flash an image and after a bit of tinkering it will be good to go,
NO SAT BOX GIVES U SLY UK! dont be fooled the only way is through servers which i cant chat about here
it is a common mistake that people think they buy a dreambox or sat box and they unfortunately think that this automatically gives them all sly uk channels it DOES NOT work like this at all im afriad
if you want to proceed with the sat side u need to decide if u want a full euro motor system or just use ur sly uk dish
