Hi, here is my problem: I have a motorized dish 1m diameter with an old technomate 5400 and a old tv still works fine but I am thinking of updating my tv to a new one with freeview HD - I think of full HD 1080p- and I also need a HD box but a friend of mine that has sly+HD said to me that I need to lay another coaxial cable for the HD, one cable isn't enought for hd tv he said. Is he right? What is going to happen if I don't have a second cable from the same lnb connected to a HD box? Please, any help would be appreciated

if its a single tuner box then you only need 1 coax running to it, and itll be enough for HD by far, I get 80% quality on a 1.1Motorised
Not a problem connected into my spiderbox on 1080p 37"
Regards.

This is so he can record one channel and watch another, You need another tuner in your box too record a channel, One to record, One to watch.
This is so i can record say sky sports 1 and watch a movie on sky family at the same time, you need two tuners as they operate on different transponders and you can not watch one transponder and record another on a single tuner box, you must be watching the channel your recording or the channel your recording must be on the same transponder as the one your watching.
