Which wall bracket should I get?

p { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; } I've recently bought a Triax TD110 dish, so it's 1m or 1.1m. There seems to be a bit of a debate about what kind of wall bracket I should get for this. I read somewhere on here that a bracket with a tube welded onto a square plate isn't really safe for a dish of this size, which is also solid, not mesh, because it could break off in a high wind. In that case, I wonder exactly what kind of bracket I should get. I'm on a tight budget and the type of wall bracket I've mentioned costs about ?25. I hope I don't have to pay much more than that. It seems there are two types. Obviously, there's the well known T and K brackets, but I'm not sure if I should go for that, or how much it would cost. The other option is some kind of U shaped bracket, which is fixed to a wall plate with screws. The fact that's it's not welded on looks a safer bet than one which is. There's a dish like this just over the road from me, which I hope to take a pic of and post it here soon. It's connected to a Liberty dish, but I think that dish is smaller than mine. Another thing to consider is that I can't afford about ?150 to have the dish installed, so I'm doing it myself. I need a bracket which is easy enough for me to install.

On a dish that size i wouldn't even consider L or U type brackets, they aren't upto the job,...

Get yourself some good quality T&Ks (should be able get some, within your budget) and a length of scaffold tube (shouldn't cost more than a drink, off a friendly scaffolder )

i use 2 x 12 inch c brackets drilled into brick not the mortar and 2 inch steel pole mast, i have fitted loads this way and never had any problems, never use them L brackets its much easier to get your c brackets plumb straight.

goto your local engineering shop and get some either 18'' or 24''
t&k brackets made up,they may have a 2'' galvanised pole aswell
it might only cost about 20 quid for it all

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Unfortunately, no one has posted any links of where to buy or mentioned any prices, so please would you do that now?

The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

if you need to see above the eaves then the pole is next to useless but the t+k,s are fine as ive used those exact ones without any issues. regards mdt

cos the pole is only 20'' long (20 centimeters),and you gonna need about 5' to 10' (5foot to 10foot) pole to look over the roof

After having a bit of a think, etc, I've bought the bracket mentioned in the quoted text above and I'm not sure it's right for my Triax TD110 110cm dish! I was disappointed that the package doesn't contain a pole, so that's some extra expense for a start. I'll have to buy a ladder as well. For some strange reason, the size of the bracket is quoted in that archaic measurement ?inches?, although satellite dish sizes are all measured in metric and the building industry has been metric for donkeys years. The length of these brackets is given as ?16 inches?, which is 40cm. I've previously read that I need or should have a bracket with a standoff of 55cm. According to this, aren't these brackets I've just bought too small for my dish?! If not, then what technique should I apply to them? I feel I should also mention that the alignment of my road and my building means that Sky dishes seem to point straight down the road, or at roughly 90 degrees to the walls they're attached to. My dish pointing somewhere to the west of there may mean that 40cm standoff is enough, but I'm not sure. I live in hope of picking up 1 degree west, but I'm not sure whether or not the signal is blocked by some buildings and trees on the other side of the road meaning west and just south of me. A friend of mine who keeps travelling round and isn't here at the moment drew a diagram about this which I don't really understand. My roof or eaves doesn't come into it. I'm planning to install this myself, due to lack of funds, and I don't think I could get up to the roof. The plan is to install it in a similar way to lots of my neighbours, meaning quite near to my living room window or bedroom window, which face towards the west. I live above a shop, meaning I can get up onto their flat roof which both windows look out onto and stand there while installing the bracket. I hope I've explained everything now. If not, please ask. Obviously I don't want to post a pic showing the location, because then anyone reading this can look up where the shop is and they'll know where I live.
