Thanks, but should I buy 12 of everything instead of 6?

I buy my 50mm pole , brackets , fixings from this place.
Also it helps to buy a couple of 40mm-60mm jubilee clips, if mounting a h-h motor to sit on.

I said I'd let you lot know how I got on, so here goes.

Someone brought a ladder round for me, but it turned out to be a bit too short, so I couldn't do anything.

Obviously I now need to get a long enough ladder. I can't accurately measure the height up to this first floor roof above a shop, but the ladder needs to be 4 metres long to definitely reach up there. Perhaps someone on here can advise me of a long enough and reasonably priced ladder to get, or if I can hire one from somewhere. I'm beginning to think I'll never have satellite reception again. I can see the headlines in the local paper now "Local man dies (or is in intensive care) after trying to install satellite dish". He was harassed by a criminal gang calling themselves "conservationists" who told him where he could and couldn't live. Following this, he lived in a flat for 5 years where he was harassed about lots of things *apart* from having a satellite dish, etc, etc.
