    Motorized Dish Question

I've just had a motorized dish installed, and it's up and running with my DM800HD clone.
If the worst happens, and something goes wrong, can somebody answer me the following:

If I end up having to re-image my box (which I've done lots of times, and got it back working with 28.2e as a single dish) will my re-imaged box know where my dish is pointing? I mean, will I be able to set it up again simply by configuration mode "simple" and "positioner" and by entering my longitude & lattitude. Does the motor somehow tell the box which position it's currently in, and then move accordingly, or would i need to get my installer back to re-position to a starting point (ie 1w) again?

    Many thanks

A big YES but also dont forget to load your bouquets as well.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping it won't happen just yet but I was hoping that I would'nt lose the dish positioning settings.

The bouquets i'm using at the moment are "Mr. Mister E2 settings with Silverfox 28E bouquets" which seems to have all that I need just now.

So, just to confirm, the motor does somehow store it's own positional info for my box to use?

Once your dish and motor is set up and aligned correctly with a little fine tuning that is it or as you state "stored", you just then plug in your reciver ie:- dreambox, itgate, vu, technomate to name a few, then set up the tuner configuaration / bouquets / ccams / etc, and as long as the reciever is set up correctly that should be it.

The reciever will now control and drive the dish to the appropiate satelitte, it's the reciever that controls the motor and dish if you know what i mean.

In diseqc 1.2, you manually save the position of each satellite you want. The receiver sends the stored locations to the motor and they're saved.

In USALS mode, the receiver uses your long/lat to automatically locate the satellites, so you don't need to go through them all tweaking and saving.
