hd box with pvr + series link - advice please

Hi

I want to get rid of my sky hd+ box and subscription.

I want a wife-friendly PVR with series link.

I'm looking at the Foxsat HDR box but I'd love something that was as simple to use as this for my wife, but with better features for me.

Does anything like this exist?

I'm considering the vu+ duo or the xtrend et9000.

For what I gather, both would do what I want. The question is - are the wife friendly?
