                yep, for a beginner.. theres a lot of bs spread about dm's, mostly by people who seem to think its 'cool' to be 'in the know'.imho, theyre no harder than any other box

                    Thanks for the replies. Really helpfull. I dont mind having to Patch files to box i done it with a780. I like a challenge. Plus you guy are there if i need support.

                        spiderbox is easy as pie. everything off the remote and can run ccam and newcamd, can be a server too. all from the remote. no epg on the box is the biggest drawback.

                        dreambox's seem to be temperamental.....but i prefer them anyhow.....you can do a lot more stuff with them.

                        i have both.

                            No EPG is a drawback, Dreambox 500s will really put you on to the sat scene and it has some great support around, You will find it really easy mate, Most people do, and the EPG is easy to install and i think is 3 days, Or maybe 7 when you install it correctly.

                                i was new to the sat side. i got a dm800 pro. there is enough info on this site to get it up and running. also alot of stuff in downloads. iv found it to be really good box, fle bay sells some ready to go. all you need is a line and you pop that in and off you go. they about ?150

                                i had no idea about them and i put image on fitted hdd and got 7 days epg up and running with help from this site.

                                mine is a clone and is really good. if you go for dm800 id get 1 with rev m tuner, glitch free.
