Please help dummy extend sky tv to all rooms

Had sky+hd installed yesterday and want to get signal in all rooms of my house. Dont need different channels in each room so I believe I need to get an distribution amplifier.

No idea what to do, please give me dummy instructions how what cable to buy, what amplifier I need and where to put the cables.

Ive went up to the loft and there is a box with 8 coax connections on the long side, I presume these for the tv points within my home. On the short side there is room for two coax connections but only one is used, I presume this goes to the roof aerial. I say there is only one used but there is a coax cable that runs the same path as the plugged in coax but it is just hanging loose, should it be plugged into the spare socket.....

On the back of my sky hd box I have an aerial in, rf out and rf out 2 socket, all unused. On the rf out 2 socket it says 9v, 75mah max

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

the box in the picture looks like an 8 way signal amplifier which will probably feed all the ariel wall sockets in the house. You will be able to utilise this by removing the ariel input which will come from the roof and puting the rf out from the sky box into this. You need digital sattelite quality coaxial cable from b and q and some ariel connecter plugs. Once its all up and running just hook a coaxial cable from the wall socket to the tv or tv,s and tune them in.

My dad tells me I need a diplexer and I need to run a digital coax cable from the sky box rf out up to the loft. Once there this plugs into the diplexer, the roof aerial coax also plugs in and then I put another length of coax from the diplexer to the socket in the amplifier that the roof coax was plugged.

Think thats about it, just have to figure out the inputs and outputs of the diplexer and what cable goes where, should have a better feel for it when I get it.

      I should get a diplexer in b&q....?

I think what you have to do is check that your amplifed splitter in the roof space lets a digital bypass signal from your sky rf output and vice versa or it won,t work. i changed my old amplifed spilter as it couldn,t do this and purchased a global f140 0ff fleabay for 14 quid and this splits my signal to four other rooms with attached digieyes at about 4 quid each to allow the control of box. Im sure you can buy ones with 6 or 8 outlets my guess is they cost about 25 to 30 quid also there are bypass kits to connect to old amplifers so they can pass the signal but i have never used them. Maybe someone else can help you there. So its run a cable from the rf outlet (making sure you have turned the power on in the menu on your skybox) to a bypass splitter then run the cable feeds to desired places connect digieyes and bobs your uncle i hope this helps.
