    Question about home plugs

    Hi
I have one pair of home plugs, one homeplug at the router and one at the reciver. If I want to add another receiver so I need only one homeplug at the new receiver or do I need another pair? Can I mix between different homeplugs as the pair I've got Orange can't see it is availble?

    cheers

      Thanks mate
I only have one free port on my router hence I need to know if I can add just one homeplug to the new box and not touch the router. I know I can buy a small switch to extend the number of ports on the router but i don't want to spend more money i already bought DM800 and the wife will leave the house if I keep spending more on the sat stuff.

no mate you only need one from the modem to the power of the house
then you can have a few anywhere in the house . work well and alot tider than wires

thats how they sell 3 at a time ect , just not a good idear to mix the speeds imho

tell the wife the pluga are more reliable ,i would say keep the plugs all the same speed and make less troublesome

The ones I am using are Orange speed 85, they are the same ones in picture in the link you provided above but they are not Devolo.

                  hi

I use homeplugs going to two boxes
                  router to homeplug
                  homeplug to dm500
                  homeplug to openbox
the only thing I would change is I would of have got the homeplugs
that have a socket so you can also plug in a 3 pin plug
then two sockets on the wall are not needed
ie one for homeplug one for box (two sockets used)

                    HI,
I have the same ones and although they are branded orange they are apparently made by devolo. I use 3 and had to download the devolo software needed to run more than 2.

i would say use the same brand mate as theres less chance of problems. and you can add to the network by just plugging in.

i use the same brand and have 3 connected....never had any probs.

yes i would also advise of using the same brand homeplugs i tried mixing comtrend ones with tp-link ones and they never worked with each other
