System setup advice

Need advice on new setup.

Current system:
Old Sony TV (scart ? no HDMI)
Sky+ (scart)
Freesat SD (scart)
DVD recorder (to record freesat - composite)
D500 (scart)

Potential new system:
Sony Flatscreen (only 1 scart connection and 4 HDMI)
Sky+ (scart)
Dump Freesat SD, DVD recorder and D500
Replace with VU+ DUO with HDD for recording (HDMI)

Questions:
If I get a VU+ Duo and have 1st connection to a fixed 28e and 2nd to a motor on the arc will I be able to record off 2 satellites simultaneously?
Anybody think of a better system to employ?

Proposed is as mine is setup. VU+ Duo with tuner A to fixed dish on 28.2E and tuner B to Motor,Works a treat . Record up to 6 chans(i think) once they are on the same transponders // record from 2 diff sats and watching a recording from HDD at the same time. Options are endless mate!

Thats sound. Just got the VU+ today and setting it up. The chap in the shop put the Blackhole image on it. Can I get an epg for all of 28e with that image or do I need a different image?

Im running the vu duo on blackhole 1.6.2 at the moment (tried most over images), get yourself a usb pen drive and plug it in the back then set up epg to download daily to the usb drive via the blue button

I have it setup to download rytec UK once a day but not using a pen drive. All up and running. Very impressed with the Vu+ Duo - beats my DM800HD hands down. Only gripe is its size though - about as big as 4 DM800s. Can I download the Vix image to the DM800? Presuming so as its enigma 2.

Don't know about vix on dm800mate. I have old vix 1.2 on my vu with built in epg download via blue button so which does my needs fine. Think vix is at 2.0 or 2.1 now. Must update it when i get a chance.

Why does it not work on DMs - I thought both were enigma 2?
