    Multi LNB Set Up

    Hi Guys

I have a 80cm dish focused on 28.2E but would like to extend that so i can get 13E and 19.2E, does anyone know of anyone in the Edinburgh area who would be able to do that for me, i have looked into a motor but would like to go with a multi lnb set up.

Any help would be appreciated apart from saying do it yourself

Some links to brackets for you, if you do decide to do it yourself, or the installer can't get some:

I have got two dishes at the bottom of the garden, one is a motorised 1m dish and the other a Sly dish. Whats the chances of getting anything on 13E and 19E with the multilnb attached to the Sly dish?

13E is easiest one to get, sky dish should be fine. Same thing is 19E so I think you will be fine for both 13E & 19E

I have got my VU+DUO driving my motor and a clone dm800 connected through a quad lnb. I would like to connect the multilnb into the dm800 so I never need to worry too much about making sure I have moved the dish to the correct place for viewing on the dm800. What would I need to use the multilnb on the dm800, a 4way disq switch?

yes 4way disq switch is needed, you will need 2 steel rulers to put 2 lnb on each ruler and that is it. connect eacn lnb to the switch and run a cable from the switch to the dm800. In the settings on the receiver you need to enusre you select disq 1.0 and specify the 3 or 4 sats you are using.

What did you mean by the '2 steel rulers' ? Did you mean the bracket for holding the lnb's onto the dish?

it is what the lnb will sit on, some sat. installers call them a ruler

Sorry my mistake when you said ruler I took it literally.

Also Curious, you can get an indoor diseqc and an outdoor and the closer the switch to the dishes the better although I have never found an appreciable loss of signal/picture by running cables about 25 feet from dishes to switch indoor. The outdoor model is enclosed but can be removed usually from the casing to fit the cables and then sealed back inside.

                        i have 13 19.2 28.2 east on a 80cm on a homemade lnb bracket
put 19.2 in the center as the off set span to 28.2 will be
                        9 degrees

i have 5 lnbs on a lenson heath 1m dish
lnb bracket and lnb holders are homemade 16 east in center
                        east 23.5 16 9 5 1w

an old post on how i made the 1m bracket and lnb holders

today i have tried setting up a mono block 13e/19.2e on a 65 cm sly dish without sucess has anybody else managed to do this as it would be very handy and a much cheaper option, i had my doubts before i tried as a sly dish has a parabolic shape and the lnb adapter has to be bodged to fit on dish.....BJ1

I have not tried multi lnbs myself but was wondering if you needed this barcket for the Sly dish because of its shape.

monoblocks work best on std 80cm dishes although I"ve had them working on 1mt dishes ok.its doubtful they will work satisfactory on a sky dish if for no other reason that the dish shape is not suited to std LNBs.
