    Powerful Router?

Hi guys looking for some help and advice.

I know this isnt strictly about satellite but its linked to it sort off!

I currenttly have a Netgear DGN2000 router that is situated central in the middle of my house.

I have dreamboxes in 4 bedrooms and a Vu in the main living room, I also have a couple of Xbox`s running in the bedrooms. The sat boxes are all running of network bridge dongles and the xboxes are wireless.

Im starting to realise my router just isnt upto the job and its always just a little too far away for my vu in the main living room (getting glitching and freezing) Was fine when when connected directly to the router. If i move the router closer it effects the xbox`s and dreamboxes in the bedrooms.

Lan cables arent a option so Im looking for a more powerful router if their is such a thing that can furfill my needs and I did think of homeplugs but I dont think I would have enough lan connections and the cost would be well too much compared to just buying a new router.

Any Ideas or advice on something that is more powerful that the Netgear DGN2000 at broadcasting a signal around the house?

    Thanks for your help!

If lan cables are not an option then have you considered the 'Home plugs'? i am connecting about six boxes with my homeplugs and they all work fine.

I have a D link DIR-655 router...works like a dream...i have tried many over the years including linksys flagship WRT54g, Belkin N1 Vision etc. I had it recommended by a fellow torrent user who stated that its throughput was very good. In our house we have lots of hardware, obviously all of it is never connected at the same time, but on average we can have 2 phones, 1 pc server, 2 linux STB's, 2 desktops and 1 laptop connected at one...there is the potential to use more if needed.....But i guess a router is only as good as the speed your house gets from your BB provider ?

A cheap 2nd router used as an access point would do the job. This effectively just increases the wireless range by re-broadcasting the signal from the 2nd device. You can use most routers in this mode so you can likely pick something up for ?5 from the likes of ebay
