    Watching TV whilst uploading

I've noticed that my TV picture starts stuttering when sending an e-mail with an attachment, or do any kind of uploading.

I was wondering, on average, how much upload bandwidth watching TV uses and is there any way to prioritise my router to serve the TV first?

I am indeed. Is it a problem with this specific receiver?

Yes it would seem to be, I can upload and download no probs with my VU+, but when I had the openbox it would do as you describe.
Not sure what causes it to do this, processor, cam etc, ???

Any idea if this happens with the DM800 Pro?

Dunno m8, I've only had an Openbox and a Vu+ Duo, if your thinking of buying something else, you cant go wrong with anything Vu+ make.

Start a thread to see what has problems when uploading/downloading.

It appears its a combination of the box asking for the CW quite late in the cycle and the internet bandwidth already being used by another application (thus 'delaying' both the CW question and the CW response). Result is the box simply doesn't get the CW in time to fully decrypt the next block.

As already mentioned above, set your router to give priority to the box (either by MAC or by protocol) if the router allows QOS type settings.

Its more than possible your router simply ignores the settings. Quite a few of the router companies seem to of implemented the menu's but not actually put anything behind them. Guess they thought it looked like a good facility but nobody would ever actually use it !

If I upload say a vid to youtube then I get picture breakup with my dm800hd.

As mentioned above some routers do support QoS but what I've done is a get a managed switch off the bay that also supports QoS and have configured this to ensure that the dm800hd gets priority.
