What is a good user friendly sat system to buy ?

I currently use cable boxes and i am planning on buying a satelite system with motorised dish and preferably HD im looking at spending around ?300 to ?400 , my concerns are i want it to last a few years and be user friendly as i have not got a clue on satelite systems . i enjoy the football and documentries mainly . Can anyone recommend a system for a noobie like me to buy ( i have someone who would install it for me).....ps i repair computers and know a lot about Nint Ds DSi and Xl if anyone wants any info in return............Thanks

I would buy a TD110 dish - motorised. A DM800 if your happy with HD PVR with only one tuner. The dual tuners are a little more expensive. Check out the Vu+ or the Dreambox8000HD.

You can buy the blade hd twin tuner, has cable and sat tuner, so you can connect dish and your cable feed.

Get your self the vuplus duo with a nice big hard drive. then get your motorised dish sorted. the vu duo is the best box on the market with the most support of any dual tuner box. very easy to setup and run.

is the vu+ easy to set up for a novice ?, i have been looking on net for one for about ?285 , just looking at dishes now , i live quite high up in oldham so do i need a 1.1 meter dish . my only other concern is i live in a terraced house so hope the dish could be mounted to pick relevant satelites up . and once again thanks for your replies much appreciated

Mr noobsat has left the building as he has signed up under two accounts with different nics.

If he hadn't made his last comment maybe we wouldn't have noticed. Hopefully his other account is more affable.
