    26 east Lost Signal

    Hi All,

I have a 1m motorised dish with Technomte 6800hd super in the east midlands. I have been lucky enough to pick up channels at 26e including the MBC channels with good signal quality, however around four weeks ago I suddently lost every channel at this position completley and now cant receive anything. All other sats im receiving as per norm including Amos at 4w and even Nilesat if im lucky in the evenings but 26e has completely gone.

I am struggling to find a reason why as there has been no strong winds and the dish has not been moved etc. The only changes I make are patches to my receiver.

Can anyone suggest a reason why I might have completley lost this Sat when I used to pick it up reasonably well. My receiver sets the satellite positions via USALS. I have not had a go at alligning the dish myself and want to avoid having to pay someone to look at it just for this Sat when there appears to be no logical reason for suddenly losing signal.

Many thanks for your help in advance

are you using usals or diseqc 1.2? try ajusting your lat/long by a small amount if usals or try to fine tune using txp.. 12.182.h.. 16200. 3/4 is using diseqc 1.2 regards mdt

Thank you all for your advice.

I finally fixed the problem. The way I did it was to change the satelilites position from 26e to 25.1e in the installation screens. Im not now getting signal quality of 60% across most channels on this sat.

Does that mean that my dish is not alligned correctly. Could I do the same for Nile sat at 7w to get a more stronger signal?

Will get to watch the Khan fight on Al Jazeera FTA now.

          Thanks again.

You wont get 7w on 1 mtr dish where you are very well.

sounds like the dish could have been set to diseqc 1.2 when first aligned... have you tried sending your dish to zero and then ajusting your lat long by a small amount to compensate. regards mdt

On 26e mbc need a slight tweak to the west I think, kuwait tv is the strongest then tweak from there, 1m motorised.

City 7 is the strongest on 7w and the other comes in later, jsc comes in around the same time a mbc. 1m dish is a little small, I use a 1.25m in west yorkshire and usually have not problems in the early evening through until midday.

I get about 50-56% SQ on MBC channels @ 26e, but I'm not receiving JSC at all. Tried tweaking positioner but to no avail. Using 1.1m Triax in Belfast.

mrfug, a 1.1m triax is too small for nilesat especially where you are. You need to go bigger if you want nilesat.

I can't find anything on 26e, Tried Kuwait TV, MBC channels, Saudi Sports.

Used to have it but cannot find a single thing, Fine tuned every frequency that is classed as strong

Im the same, I used to get a weak signal and scanned a few channels when I had the 500 a year back.

Now I have the 800 I have been unable to find anything. Been trying for a few weeks now.

I was right on the border line due to where I live and size of dish.

I'm talking about Al Jazeera Sports on Badr, not Nilesat.
