    Technical help needed

    Hi,

I have just set up my 80 cm dish with a spiderbox sd5000

    16 east

I have got a good signal using frequency 11055 27900v
    and happy with channels.

I am unsure how to get other channels e.g tring channels freq 11283 v etc?

Some channels show broken picture, tring news will settle sometimes too.

you will need a 100cm dish for 16 east there is a sticky on this section called dish size guide and 100cm is required size, you will pick up some channels with 80cm but not all try adjusting your skew on your lnb untill you peak your signal .....BJ1

      pfft

Other people are using 60 cm dishes in my area and catch all.

Does the LNB make a difference?
      Maybe moving the dish?

Or is it deffo the size of the dish?

      Thank you.

the bigger the dish the more signal you will pull in, as i said in the sticky section just above this post there is a dish size guide and a 100cm dish is required, you will pull in most of the channels on a 80cm dish. at the bottom of the sticky section have a read of fine tuninng your satellite dish....BJ1...p.s you need to read the part about skewing your lnb

you dont give your location but I"m near Hull and get all the digitalb channels no prob on an 85cm dish.If you scan 11.639 H 27900 you should get the 6 film channels and 10.758 V 27500 will give you the supersport ones.Your dish does need to be accurately aligned and as said by bj1 if a fixed dish the correct amount of skew for the lnb needs to be on.As you have found the sat ok it sounds like it just needs a bit of tweaking.

Does that include the Tring channels ?

I can get supersport 1-6 and films

Tring news is the only one i can get a glimpse of.

Like you say I need to tweak a little.

              btw I am in Northampton

Tirana tv on 11.283 V is encrypted in conax and is not FTA.

                          Update:

                          Problem solved.

80cm dish is okay , but agree that 100cm is required, especially for people further west/north.

The signal is so marginal that, tightening up the sat dish can cause the loss of the signal.

I have had no problems thus far, and the weather's been pretty poor.

                          Thank you.

80cm should be ok in northhampton did you check the skew of the lnb(twist in the holder) when looking at it from behind the dish it should have an anti clockwise twist of about 12.5 degrees at your locale.some lnbs have markings that equal 2.5 degrees each.the best way is to fine tune it so you get both H & V polarities the best you can.when tightening do a half turn each side to help keep the dish central.
