thanks mate had a good look and a good read its weather to use a pc or a openbox with a card then duplicate it

Use a Linux PC as a server, doesn't have to be a powerful one. Get an Omnikey card reader too.

thanks for reply i have a zoostorm pc with a 256 mb of ram do you know how if that is enought ram for what im planning or will i need an upgrade as i have a acer with 4g of ram for my main pc so dont want to use that

Ive heard of people using NAS boxes and linux based modems as servers so 256mb should be fine.

Personally I thinks for a noob its probably much easier using a dm500 as server then setting up linux server on a pc.

if its only for 10 mates as you say, definately use a dmxxx. it will be perfect for your needs, and not much setting up either. you can also use the box for your viewing too.
