    Satellite in 2 rooms??

    hi guys

How can you connect 2 boxes in 2 rooms.

i.e DM 500 in bedroom and the original sky box in the living room?

I heard I need a twin thing for my sattelite? Do I just need an extra accessory for my existing sattelite ( its the orginal sky one). Or do i need another dish outside the house.

you will need a twin lnb. according to member from this forum, inverto ultra black lnb is supposedly the best. single aorund ?15 delivered, twin around ?25 delivered.

regarding the dish, if you only want to watch sky tv, then the original dish you currently have will be fine. however if you want foreign channels then you will require a larger dish, around 80cm-1m dish, and preferably a motorised setup or even a monoblock setup.

If it was a sky install then its likely you will have a quad lnb. So just run some sat cable from the lnb to the 500.

I mate, if you have a look at it the lnb there should be 4 port. 2 will be taken up by the skybox twin tuner and that leaves 2 spare.

thanks for that mate. I'll deffo have a look at it.

IS it okay to be checking the lbn without powering the dish off etc? ( if that is possible or not?)
Is it a coaxial cable that I need? is that the same as for cable i.e virgin wire?

I mate, you will be able to just look at it and check.

You will see by the thickness if the base, they also normally have a sleeve that will pull down to protect the cable.

Get some cheap sat cable form ebay mate. Just make sure you get enough depending on the size of the run.

                And also some F connectors.
