dark motor or technomate 2600 - triax dish or a cheap dish - is it worth paying xtra?

hi, trying to get a good satellite setup for as little as possible, just bought inverto ultra lnb from ebay for ?12.95. i just need some advice on the rest of the stuff i need to buy.

i live in derby, east midlands, im looking for a dish over 90cm and was considering getting a 'triax' dish for about ?50. is it worth paying extra or should i just buy a cheap branded dish such as 'faval' satellite dish.

also which motor would you recommend, dark motor or technomate 2600? or any other one you could recommend.

lnb, motor, dish, amalgamating tape, cable (which kind?) and wall mount IS THAT ALL THE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED OR AM I MISSING ANYTHING?

    any suggestion much appreciated, TY

Good LNB choice. The DarkMotor has metal gears, which makes it a little noisier but lasts longer, especially if driving a heavy steel dish like the Triax. Get either CT100 or WF100 cable, and don't forget your F-plugs. Faval aren't that bad. Just buy whatever is within your budget.

note this is only from my own experience.
I"v only ever used cheap RG6 co-ax and never had any probs with it(I"m always changing my cable runs so couldnt afford to do it with posh stuff) I"v used a nylon geared TM2100a for quite a few years and its still going strong and never given trouble.I"v also got a metal geared TM2600 which is just as good but a few pounds dearer than the TM2300 so on balance when I do need a new motor it will probably be a TM2300or one of the "new horizons" motors if they discontinue the TM2300.(they look like they are made by the same manufacturer)I"v never tried a darkmotor. As to dish my personal favorite are Gibertini ally ones they are light and easy to align,Ive also tried Televes dishes good & cheap but heavy but theTM2600 swings the 1mt version about ok.

Can anyone help me setting up dm800 box. just scanned 28e for sky channels with a sky sub card inside and getting list of channels rather than an epg list or now and next. How do I get epg? Do I need to download. Anything?

You need a 28.2 settings list, like SgtFlipFlops, and an EPG plugin. Cross EPG or Rytec. You can download them from your addon menu.

Dont be expecting an EPG like Skys though.
