    O2 blocking cccam?

I am currently sharing my Internet connection from my iPhone throughout my mac to my dm500. Using a three sim
Cccam works. Using my giffgaff(o2) sim(which is truly unlimited) cccam doesn't work, it still connects fine, allowing me to download etc. I'm assuming O2/giffgaff are blocking the port the server uses. Is there a way around this? Does anyone know the exact ports that are blocked?

    Thanks!

your ip address would be different on your o2 sim than your 3 sim so your remote dns would not be able to find your dm500s and your home net work could have a different range of ip address when you swap sim

In your network settings on the Dreambox it will differ from 3 to o2,thats probably your problem.

When I use the giffgaff simcard the dreambox works fine, it will download updates and add ons etc, but cccam will not work.

Have you checked the ccam.cfg file and looked at it to see if your C--- is there?

Yes, it works fine when I change my iPhone simcard to one from 'three network'.

With a giffgaff(o2) simcard, the dreambox connects to the internet and can download add ons etc.

With a three simcard, the dreambox connects to the internet can download add ons and CCCAM works.

I can only think of this being a port blocking issue.

Try a test line with the dodgy sim i wouldnt be surprised if your server is the one blocking the line.
My mates was down recently and i tried 3 or 4 of my mates and none worked yet when i rang home the tv was working fine so try another test if you can get your hands on one.

In your network setting have you changed anything like nameserver the primary dns or netmask?
Have you tried it with Dhcp enabled and disabled??

                    Andy.

The fact that the dreambox is getting an internet connection anyway shows the networks fine. It is going through a mac, all that is changing is the network I'm using to tether.

I know what your saying about your network cos your downloading so it means the network is fine.
You didnt state if your ip was static or disabled.
You could try this with dhcp enabled then disabled.
My only other thought is your 02 package big enough to run the Dreambox?
Thats about my lot, good luck with it.

Iv done it both ways. Let my mac give it an IP and also let it assign its own. I tried messing about port forwarding before I learnt that was just for sharing the cccam to others. Then I tried my three sim and its fine. The reason I want to use the o2 one instead of the three one is because the o2 one is unlimited has a lower ping and is faster.

                          Thanks for your help tho.

I hope you sort it as i was wanting something like this for my mate on an unlimited sim.
                            What router are you using?
I know with certain dongles you need to use certain routers.
