hi m8, just look at other sky dishes and set yours up pointing the same way. I got one of these to then fine tune [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001HK8IHY/ref=oss_product]Konig Satfinder Meter including 1.5m Cable: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics[/ame] If you have a dm800 I believe it has a sat strength meter i believe and you can use that. will probably depend on image on box

No I am on the 500s, I just want a basic install, I see the dish has a level on the LNB, if I get that in the right place does that meen I'm on task, Then I move the dish and get someone to shout when a signal comes up on box as I don't wana buy a sat meter.

      Regards.

In all serious now, The dish is on a basic swivel once on the wall i think with the raven dish, If i got that on the wall could i not move it right and left as i know it will be in the correct place by the level, its then just finding the satellite ?

          Regards.

basically once you have your backet/dish level on the wall just set your elevation to about 25 degrees on the scale and when connected up make very small movements up/down and left and right untill you find astra2 then fine tune checking all the txp,s in the dm500 menu,s to peak the signal. astra2 is a very strong sat along with 23.5/19.2/13/9 east but through a process of elimination it can be done with a bit of patience. regards mdt
