Protek 9750ip Issues

Hi i ama newb to the Protek Gift box scenne but have a few issues and wondered it anyone could offe advise

I am set up on an 88cm dish and motorised but certain packages work and others dont. J$C Sports all seem to work for aboy a minute then i get the scrambled channel on a black screen message ..however i have notice that this seems to partially crash the box (unable to access menu or change sat position, or channel when this happens) On another forum i was told to play with long and lat settings but surely this relate more to the dish alignment and location rather than what this seems to be more software related on these packages. Other sat packages work fine and i never had and problems with alignment when i used to have a technomate in my stack attached to the motorised? Anyone come across this issue or have any ideas what could be the problem?

Also tried putting a SLY FTA card in for 28e but just loops in the menu stating it is trying to initialise but never suceeds could this all be firmware????

aLL a bit frustrating after just outlaying the money for the box and things have not been very simple as they were made out to be!

have you changed the sats from 19 to 28,i would remove the card as i am not sure if workable,by pressing the ok button should give you the option to switch sats to choose and is the box set to move the dish? coloured buttons give you options.
dont worry there are a few better in the know people will get you sorted.

Yes box is set to move dish and works on other gift packages on the box.

are you recieving a good signal quality reading of 75% or more on hotbird, the protek boxes do crash when dish is not aligned properly and will end up damaging your box, the problem must lie at your end as the server is running fine other than the usual problems they have with nova of wich is been worked on atm....BJ1

is it compatible with circular lnc?

The quality reading is i would say about 60 to 65% on hotbird, i never had a problem on my technomate prevoiusly with this dish set up; are the proteks more sensative then?

did u use technomate for jsc sports? your signal may be to low for that tp, i would get your dish aligned, you should be getting more than 60-65% the signal bars on the stb are not that accurate and you will find that your true reading on a sat meter is a lot less...on my protek 9600 my signal bars are full yet on my meter i get a reading of around 85%.....BJ1

Thanks for the update Bj1, i didnt use the Technomate for JSC and see your point. I will have the dish alignment checked and see what improvement i can get!
