i would personally get your brothers box and try it on your feed to rule the possibility that you nlnb could be goosed, water in the coax or dish moved slightly.

      Sky freeview help

      Hi,

      This may help you.

I recently connected a very old Pansonic Sky Digibox, without a sky card. All I wanted to do was watch the standard free channels, some of the channels worked and some didn't, i.e. Sky News, ITV etc.

To top it all, I could not get any channels after Channel 156, very strange I know.

What i did was update the software on the box by:

      1. turn off the box - at the mains for at least 2 to 3 mins minimum
      2. hold down the backup button on the box (not remote)
      3. turn on the box (still holding down the backup button) and wait for all the lights the lightup. A message will appear on the screen telling you that the system is updating and it will take ten minutes or so.
      4. release the backup button.
      5. let it finish updating - the box will go to standby when it is finished
      6. turn on the box.

This worked for me. I can get all the FTA channels including SKY news - the only one I cannot get is Channel 5 (I'm not that bothered about it)

      Good uck.

Sorry for any typos - sent this very quickly.
