    1m motorized dish, quality strength?

i have a 1m motorised dish pointing to astra 28.2e and i get 99% signal strength and 65% quality

should i be getting a better quality than this?

the guy who installed the disk put it at the bottom of my garden on a floor stand but i am not convinced

All depends on what make/model receiver you are using.

I get between 85 and alot of 100s with my Dreambox 800hd snr so that sounds rubbish to me.

Are you using usals or non usals?

              a technomate 5402hd brand new

              using usuals.

tried nudging east and west through the settings on the motor but the signal drops even lower either way so i know where i have it is as good as can be.

longitude and latitude are correct i got it off google maps and 19.2e is fine and so is 13e
which would indicate my setting are all perfect as far as long and lattitude

You could manual move the dish left and right to see if the signal is better. Adjust the LNB, and if you are really brave slightly adjust the elevation. If the signal does not improve, well that is the best you can hope for, with your equipment. These percentages are just a guide, and not a standard measurement, because different boxs will give different numbers with the same signal. It does not matter if the dish is low down or 100 foot in the air, as long as there is line of sight.

Ok if your using usals have you put then correct long and lat in?
Going by your other sats its close but you can tweak the lnb and tweak the long and lat a little which might help.
Dont always have to use the correct coordinates just add a bit or take away and have a play with them.
If it is out of line a bit this will help.

                    Andy.

Im no expert but the angle looks a tad flat to me but the dish has to be on the arc and the pole perfectly plumb to get good results.
Cant see that being the dish or the receiver.

                      Andy.

i have tried nudging the dish through the motor west a little and east a litlle and the signal drops lower

would tweaking my longitude and latitude really make that much difference if i already done this?

I know a lad in Manchester whose dads dish was well out of allignment,we moved the long and lat a mile from what it should be and improved snr from something like 46 to 90 so yes it does work.
