    AZbox problems! Cant connect with DCC and whats the pluggin URL?

    I'm trying to setup my AZbox which has been idle far too long.

    In the past, I was always able to flash over the internet, but seems the servers on my list are no longer valid. I noticed in a thread here, the suggestion to use azboxworld.com, however that does the same. Interestingly putting that URL in a browser gets diverted to an address which immediately gets flagged up with malware.

    Anyone know a genuine and working URL I can use in my AZbox?

    I did try to add manually, but it comes up with no pluggins.lst found

    Lastly, for some reason, Im unable to connect properly with DCC. I'm using the correct IP, username and password and appears to connect, but comes back with error 10057 in function send socket is not connected. Thinking I must have changed the password or something, I tried to FTP to the URL in a browser and that worked fine. I then noticed, that though it said in DCC I wasnt connected, FTP actually was!

    Anyway, the bottom line here, is Im trying to install MGCamd and unable to. (Im using the newest azbox official image)

    Can anyone give me a helping hand before it gets put away once again!

    ive managed now to get some of the urls in the pluggin download list to work. Seems my last image loaded via usb overwrote the DNS

    Trying to get MGcamd running is proving to be annoying!

      personally, i would scrap the official firmware as it's abit poo.
      over two years and its still in beta. terrible.

      use the spaze enigma 2 image, you can then download cams directly using tspanel plugin.

        I did think about that, but unsure. The details Ive seen to do it seem confusing and not straight forward.... also, ive only really used, mine for media playing (via my home server - my main receiver is a genuine DM800 which was bought before the this one) and from what I can see, you cant do that yet on enigma images (or at least not on the one I was looking at!)

        I agree with what you were saying though... I bought this on the promise of great things..... on paper it could have slaughtered the DM800... alas, its manufacturers have been its own downfall.

        So any good guides to flash and setup mgcamd? I saw what appeared to one on alsat - but if it was like that, why are all the others Ive seen look complicated? I dont think I can post the link - but the details I hope will be fine:

        Install Azupd.exe to your PC
        Ensure your router has DHCP enabled.
        Connect the Azbox via wire to your router, do not use WiFi
        Extract the patch.bin file to an empty USB stick formatted in FAT32, and upgrade as you would normally.
        When the upgrade is finished, do not remove the USB stick.
        Instead, do a hard reboot, (power off) and when it appears, read the IP from the VFD on your azbox and run Azupd.

        The power off process allows the DOM to reinitialise with the 2 new partitions that have replaced the 4 partitions needed for OpenSat s/w

        To use Azupd - enter the IP appearing in the VFD.
        Click Update

        Azupd will read the file on the USB stick and begin the upgrade.
        It will take some time to do this as it goes through it's process..

        Creating patch.cramfs <60s
        Create 2 Partitions on DOM <60s
        Copying E2 kernel 2m 31s
        Pause <60s
        Copying E2 1m 5s
        pause <60s

        then
        E2 installed successfully.

        With a bit of luck, Enigma2 will now work.

          -http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G8H4YAKE

          if you prefer to use the official fw, then the urls are

          url2=http://www.azbox4yu.com
          url3=http://www.islaremota.com/azp
          url4=http://www.islaremota.com/aza
          url5=http://azboxworld.com
          url6=http://www.satelites.info/azbox
          url7=http://server.s*e*r*v*e*r.*a*z-box.co.uk/plug
          url8=http://server.s*e*r*v*e*r.*a*z-box.co.uk/cams
          url9=http://satlab.techsat.info/AZPlugins
          url10=http://satlab.techsat.info/AZCamd

          * is to be removed, of course...

            Yikes! I hope I havent just messed things up!

            I had decided anyway to use enigma2 and I did search for the version you mentioned without any luck - so I tried another from the alsat site released 4 days ago.

            Anyway, I did as you suggested and used jajup.

            It all seemed to be OK. I got the firmware and run so it put into bootmode and got the box IP. It all seemed to be going perfectly up to 50% when there was an error "Create Swap".... Mounting MMP, please wait
            Then critical error. Jazup is disconnected from your azbox

            It now boots into VFD mode only!

              Just to clarify.... using jazup, you are able to flash direct to azbox memory? (I assume that is the DOM option) is that not correct?

                I managed to find the spazed one youd recommended.. that one went in without any problems... Trying to work it all out now! Ive mounted one of the shares on my WHS, but unable to play anything from it yet. Similarly cant see where the mgacamd is to install

                But early days... its late and Im just happy my dead azbox is alive again.

                  glad you got it working.
                  to install cams, use the tspanel plugin. its in the red stickies on the sat dreambox page. ftp the ipk file to the tmp folder. on the remote press home/explorer/tmp/ok/install this package/reboot.
                  i've found not to press the buttons to quickly, as the sw is still a bit buggy, and tends to crash.
                  a new spaze image is expected any day now.

                    I looked, but cant see this tspanel in the red stickies! have you got a url for it (and any other recommendations? I assume I can install mgcamd through that and all are available? Are the cams different or all the same on an enigma2 image? (ie for different receivers)

                      look for enigma2 TSpanel plugin,everything you need for your image
                      it's on the sat dreambox page.
                      this is the general satellite tv page.

                      the cams are the same for different receivers, but some images use a different cam file extention.
                      gemini uses tar/gz.
                      dream elite uses del.tgz.
                      you just select the right cam for that image.

                        Im not getting on well with this at all!

                        I managed to find the pluggin and installed by transfering it to a hard drive. It found it and installed.... I think! I noticed a couple of times it seemed to flash up "failed"

                        Now Ive no idea where to load it! Gone through every menu option and coloured button press - but nothing doing!

                        The image itself seems very buggy! Each time it boots up, nothing Ive configured is saved. eg, language - saved as English, reboots in Spanish. Dish, saved as single on 28E, reboots to disecq a/b and 2 satellites..... Sat Tuner not showing configured and enabled - but the terestrial (which isnt present) is enabled!

                          i believe there was a spaze image fix.

                          MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

                          when you reboot, just restart gui and your settings should be saved.

                            Yeh, I realise you need to reboot to save.... but its not playing ball!

                            That image IS the one I used!

                            ATM I cant use the box for satellite and cant use it for media from my server .... Im worse off than with the proper firmware!
