Sky lnb setting

If i connect a spiderbox 5000 to a sky dish what setting do i put the lnb at, I have it set at universal 1 at the min... Thanks for your help

thats ok m8, a sky lnb is just a universal lnb with a eliptical feedhorn for the mini-dish. regards mdt

Nice one thanks, Its not for me i gave a spare box to the brother in law, I set it all up for him check to make sure it was working here and he took it away to his and its all connected to me but he cant get signal on the sky dish, so it must be a set up problem either the f-connector or the sky dish or water in the cable i was thinkin? any other ideas?? im 200 miles away so cant go round!!

Ok a normal sky box works fine on the sky dish but the spiderbox is showing no signal anyone have any idea why?? it was working fine at my house but that was on a loop and also direct on my 1m dish!! i didn't try it on my sky dish!! i proberbly should have!!

Also can someone tell me how i should put Long and lat in the spiderbox for NN8 5QS just so i can double check i have done it plenty of time but i just want to reasure myself!! can't understand what has happened!!

if he is on a fixed dish the long and lat wont matter make sure he has 28.2 in as the satellite.

ps I made it 0.7 West & 52.3 North

Yes i have the same settings!! and yes hes on a fix dish and set at 28.2!! WTF am i doing wrong. Sky box works with no problems!!

perhaps the sky box works ok as its got a sronger tuner

sat setup screen should look like this but with astra2/28.2 on the top line and an astra 2 TP in the transponder line.turn motor type to off in the motor setup menu.

Yes the motor is off!! ~~~~ nos whats wrong!! fine on a sky box no signal on spiderbox ffs this is pis*ing me right off!!

Can you check the LNB is being powered, try toggling it On and Off in the menu.

ask him to go to the sat search menu with 28.2 on the top line then drop to the transponder line and scroll through them to see if he gets an active one.he could also try deleting all channels and then re-scanning.
he could also go to "manual search" scroll through the Transponders til he gets to 11.954 H 27500 and delete it then "add transponder and put it back in then scan.(its BBC news) if the menus work and you get the "no signal" banner the box would appear to be working.the only other thing I can suggest is to do a factory re-set and start again as he is on a fixed dish he wont have too much re-setting up to do.
