    lnb or dish alignment?

Hi - I'm trying to determin if I have an lnb problem or a dish alignement problem. I lost all my channels a couple of days ago, my receiver still works on my fixed dish so that is ok. My dish still moves on the motor fine.

Is there any way of confirming 100% if the lnb is broken without getting the ladders out? If the lnb was busto would you ever get any SNR? For example if I try to tune to a satellite the SNR bar does show up to 65% for a split second while the satellite moves before it goes to 0%. would a broke LNB do this?

    Thanks

Its most likely the LNB that is knackered. How long have you had the dish for?

it sounds like your dish has moved as you say it is moving past where it should stop, you can try motor settings and move left and right on disesq and store each sat that way...BJ1

I've only had it for 3 months. I'll try and do the disceq settings. Thanks!

If I can get a signal at all does that mean 100% that the lnb is ok or can it be slightly frazzled and still able to get a weak signal?

update: I've tried the disceq and can get 30% SNR and if I scan that sat I can find services. Would this be possible if the lnb was broken or is this definitely a misaligned dish?

Thanks, I just want to know what I am up against to get it sorted.
