    just left sky

hi need some help ,we have left sky and they have stopped all our extra channels 2 weeks early
so now the hd box will not let us view things we recorded ,even off non sky channels .is there any way around this ?
can anyone give us some advice i.e is it worth keeping the hd box -can anything be done with it or is it better getting a different box
new to messing around with satellite tv, any advice much appreciated
    thanks

To view or use the box as a pvr u have to still pay sky a monthly sub ?10 I think. U may be able to extract the recordings by removing the Hard drive and sticking it in an external enclosure. I did that with my old sky+ box and now have a 160gb drive. The enclosure cost about ?7 from the bay.

The box can be used to get freesat channels

I'm pretty sure that the recordings on the hard drive are encrypted, or not in a format that can be played back on anything other than a sky box.
