    satellite splitter

hi all, if i wanted to have mulit room in my house what would be the best way?

if i split the satellite cable in my house with a 4 way splitter would this degrade the signal? this would be less expensive an easier to connect. An octo lnb with 4 cable feeds would be more expensice and time consuming and would this really be necessary?

also i only want to do this from a small sky dish.

    what would be best?

You really need to use a quad lnb, they are cheap enough. I know it's a bit of hassle with cabling, but that's the way I done it

each lnb will have a good strength, using a splitter may give you kv problems ,and if you switched them all on at once what signal will you have??

you cant just go splitting the feed from a single lnb feed without using some pretty expensive distribution amplification kit. the best and cheapest way would be to buy a multi feed lnb.

The main problem with sat gear is there are power and control signals going up the cable to the lnb from the sat tuners. If you start connecting multiple tuners to a single lnb then there are bound to be problems with conflicting power/control signals. You'll be lucky if the only problem is that it doesn't work - the most likely outcome is broken tuners on your boxes.
