VU+ Duo or xtrend ET9000?

I've been out of the satellite seen for a few years now but want back into it asap, so much so that I'm gunna order a new box in the morning but what box do you guys think I should get?

I'm after a twin tuner HD box. Been looking at the named above, I like the VU because it's been around longer but the ET9000 is soo much better looking.

Is there any others that I've missed?

if it's only a choice between the two receivers mentioned i'd go with the xt/et 9000.

even though the ET is a younger box than the Vu the level of support is pretty much exactly the same from the various image teams such ads VIX also these boxes are running a newer linux kernal which makes for better integrated drivers for things like usb tuners and wifi sticks.

i'd seriously have a look over to world-of-satellite.co.uk and see what offers he currently has.

also just to confuse you more. there are two versions of this box the xtrend 9000 and the et9000 however there both the exact same box. only difference being that XT are the ODM ( original design manufacturers ) where ET are OEM.

cheers bud yeah i've been over there and thats where I got the idea of the two from, will also be ordering from their in the morning.

Is there any other boxes that are on par with them that i have missed out, bar the expensive DM8000?

no not at present, the DM8000 is a cracking but vastly overpriced box, the Vu ultimo ( yet to be released ) will be a dm8000 killer with a lower price tag but thats not due for release till the end of November at the very earliest.

the other thing to consider here too is the lack of image support for the dm8000 by teams such as VIX and BH. i'm not saying that these are the only teams out there but i'm certainly not too impressed with whats currently available for the dm8000 considering how long it's been in general circulation.

i presume you mean the genuine dm8000 which i agree is vastly overpriced, but you can buy a clone for around ?370.
there are loads of ferrari images available and all plugins/etc work.
i was so impressed with mine that i bought another for my mum.

as for the dm8000 killer. (god, i've heard that so many times) they said that about the reelbox avantgarde 2, and look what happened to that.
fact is, any box no matter what spec is only as good as the support it receives.
second fact is, you can have all the wives and girlfriends that you want, but you can only have one mother. so she should be special.

the fact remains that ?370 is a lot of money for a clone with limited warranty

the fact of the matter is i'm not the slightest bit interested in clones. and certainly not a clone close to ?400, as for the support offered by both vu and xtrend there second to none and far surpass that of even dreambox multimedia them selves.
