What do I need ?

I have installed a sat system because my son had one and it looked cool (VU + DUO. Unlike him I installed the motorised dish and pointed it towards the heavens myself and it found strong signals and loads of services.

My questions are:

1- If I want to access freesat do I need a card or anything extra?
2- If I buy a second hand sky card on eBay will I get all sky non subscription channels or should I be able to get these without a card?

All the channels available on Freesat are FTA, so no card required.

2- If I buy a second hand sky card on eBay will I get all sky non subscription channels or should I be able to get these without a card?

All an ex-sub or Freesat From Sky card will give you is a handful of FTV channels (free, but encrypted) like, C5 (of which there is an FTA version anyway) 5*, 5 USA, LFC TV and a couple of otherrs i can't remember of the top of my head. There is also around another 250 FTA channels available on Sky, so again require no card.

Though a satellite scan of 28.2e would of shown what was available FTA/without card
