help with satelite im a total noob

Hi everyone, I've had a browse through the forum and I'm very impressed with all the information I have obtained already. Although as I'm a total noob I'm really lost in the sea of information. I have been searching the net as a mate of mine had had a HD box installed by a mate, it runs of the existing sky dish and he gets the full sky package along with loads of Arabic channels. He paid 200 quid for the box and 200 a year for the subscription to the mate, he did tell me he needed a broadband connection for it all to work. Here is the eBay item number to the box my friend has 130534030120 I just couldn't help but think I could install my own and surely I wouldn't have to pay this so called subscription? I may be totally wrong but it worth a go. Before I posted I did have a good browse through previous post but couldn't find any information that I could understand. If there is already a thread can someone guide me in the correct direction?

read through the forum and go into the sat section. look in sat dreambox section. start by reading the stickys at the top. plenty of information to help you out.

you will need a box. ?130+ for hd
you will need internet connected to box at all times
you will need to google cardshare. (topic not allowed on this forum)

then you will be ready to go.

And for my two penny's worth a sat dish of a decent size to lock onto as many sat's that you like to recieve, and if you feel adventurous you could even go motorised which is a doddle and no more hassle than setting up a fixed dish, and you would be amazed what the foriegn sat's have got in terms of channle's, and the hardest part in my opinion patients to put the dish up and align it to the correct sat, then the fun can start there.

And as stated by alom5 all info can be found in the sat section in red called stickies.

ITgate TGM220 (swapable tuner), Dreambox 800 pro, Dreambox 500c x 2, DBox, Popbox media player.
