    Sat Advice

    Hi all,

Venturing onto the sat route after about a year with KV.

Just wanted bit of help etc with getting the dish up and which box is better. I think I know how to set up the boxes and the item which we mustn't talk about on the forum

    1. any sat installers in the derby area that would like to put a dish up then give us pm.

    2. A sat company in derby have mentioned they could put up a Sat Dish 4lnb for 75pounds...

To me that sounds reasonable. if you guys know better would be great to know

also the dish mentioned above with the 4lnb is 48cm would that be ok to connect with dreambox or blade 7000 and for channels to work ok

    3. which do you think is better. The Dream800 or the blade 7000. Ive heard the Blade is easy to setup but support is quite thin. I know its all a risk but dont want to only last a month a two.

Your help / views would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

?75 i think is pretty good price.

i would also go for the dm800hd pro or the 800se. check in the sat dreambox section. you will get good info on the boxes there.

The 48Cm dish will be sound for Sky UK, and I payed ?20 for my sky dish from ebay and self fitted it, Its really easy if you are Ok on a ladder and buy a cheap ?10 sat meter, Will save yourself ?50, Can put that towards a HD box instead of the Standard definition when you think about it mate!

      Regards.

        Thanks for the posts

dm800. quite pricey from what ive seen. for the first time around i think i will stick with blade 7000 HD for 150 pounds. Thinks thats good value for money. Considering i also paid 150 for my KV!!

thanks for the thumbs up on the 48cm dish. one of the few parts i was really unsure of.

seen the dishes from ebay for 20. looks a bargain. Normally i am one for DIY but i think i will pass on this, so will just pay the 75 with everything in. cant really complain as two other people were saying 120 just for just fitting!

setfiretorain - i only want sky uk and HD channels so the Blade 7000 will be just fine.

            hi

I have last night and this mornin noticed good reviews from snr members on the dm800 hd.

plus saving rounf 40 off buyin the blade

looked on the net and best I can see it for is 125.

could u pm or provide where you purchase from 105. sounds like a great price and hd is of the same quality of the blade box

            cheers again

I bought the daughter a kit from B&Q and put it up today.A Ross 85cm dish SD receiver wall bracket and cable for ?25 down from ?59.Quite good too for freesat and was thining at that price ideal for a starter kit.Just need a box upgrade when sick of free channels.

wish i could have done the dish myself. but got it done for 60(dish and 3 points). Happy with it.

Ended up going with the blade. Just seemed easier. Read all the guides. Waiting on the box and then will see if this reading pays off...Looking forward to it.

DM800 will be the next test eventually. Lot more open but from what i read just seemed little more difficult and as KV lad i will make do with easy setup before moving on.

Thanks to those who helped me.

                    Cheers
