Blade Box glitching on ADSL Internet

    Hi

I have moved out of a old telepest area now Virgin which is on cable and the blade box was running superb.

I am now in an area where there is no cable and have an adsl internet connection (plusnet - top speed 4mb), my friend lives around the corner and he has virgin adsl - top speed 1.8mbps.
His box is virtually unwatchable due to the glitching and mine is not far off. Its so annoying I may as well subscribe to 'sly' for it.

Why is this happening and what can be done to prevent it?
    any tips/ideas anyone?

Its worth trying other servers, I find 98% of glitching is down to the server. It took me about 30 servers to find one that was glitch free. When you find one don't expect it to be glitch free forever, some get greedy and over subscribe people.

Ive taken it back to the place that used to have the Virgin cable connection and it works fine still. So that rules out the server issue. Its either the dish setting or most probably BT adsl line? help!
p.s. if u have a person that has reliable server pm me their details plz

It could be port blocking or routing issues. It's worth trying different servers to find one that works for you. It doesn't mean this server is bad, just that it doesn't work for you.

have you run a speed test and checked the ping speed etc? If you have and all is fine then you should have no problem picking it up. Ports only need to be forwarded if you are running a server IIRC but its worth forwarding everything from the router to the box to make sure. Other than that try a different server.
