SKY HD Box lost recordings

my Sky HD box has lost its recordings and wont record.
Sky help desk tried a reset that failed, then tried getting a enginner callout? is herea hard re-set for the box ?

pull the power lead out of the stb
push and hold the left and right arrow buttons
put power lead back in make sure you are holding the arrows in
wait about 30 secs with buttons presed in
the stb will start to flash
press select
it will then reset the box all recordings will be lost
